Knowing how to handle a panic attack especially in an emergency situation is very important. Panic attacks can be very frightening and can happen even without any apparent reason. Usually they happen if for instance one gets trapped in an elevator or simply because of something that makes someone scared. A panic attack is at its worst in the first few minutes. So knowing how to handle a panic attack and getting some panic attack treatment fast comes in handy. If it happens to you, the first thing to do is to calm down. Having calmed down, focus on your breathing, hear it, feel it and pace it down. Besides calming your brain and nerves, breathing helps to keep panic symptoms at bay.
The next thing to do is to get away from the situation you could be in a kitchen, driving, or at work. If you are working step outside or if you are driving just pull over. Find a silent place and try to get back your control. Alternatively, you could distract yourself from the panic laden thoughts by humming a tune, doing some maths or reciting the alphabet backwards.

Be positive, that can be achieved by staying positive about the whole situation. Focus on positive thoughts and divert your mind from the attack. Avoid thinking of the worst and of the attack itself and before you know it the panic attack will be over.
Regular exercise is also another good way to handle a panic attack. Generally, exercise is good to the physical health of your body but it also relaxes and revitalizes the mind. By exercising at least 30-40 minutes for a few times in the week, it is possible to lower the stress levels that cause panic attacks.
However these are just short term solutions to handle panic attacks. Since panic attacks can become compulsive it is better to stop having panic attacks all together. It may sound almost ridiculous but you can by using a tested and proven panic attack treatment.
